The project of the Innovation track in this competition must be based on the application (App) designed and developed by the iOS/iPadOS tools and platform, and must conform to the product characteristics of the iOS/iPadOS system. Your project must be original applications (Apps) with certain functions. The participating apps should be designed and developed based on the iOS/iPadOS development tools, and must run smoothly on iOS/iPadOS related devices. Teams are encouraged to download and develop using the Swift language.
The theme of your project must be closely related to the application fields recommended by the competition and other hot and pain point solution that related to social concern, including but not limited to energy, health care, environmental protection, elderly care, smart transportation, smart city, smart logistics, Internet of Things related to social innovation, food Security, big data/cloud services related to social services, etc. Contestants can freely propose their topics, collect, research and obtain relevant data by themselves, provide solutions and actually run them on iOS/iPad OS devices.
Teams must upload their entries to the official links provided for Hong Kong & Macau region. When uploading the entry, each team must submit the relevant description information of the entry according to the requirements of this regulation. Before the registration deadline, each participating team can revise, improve and update the submitted registration information at any time. For Hong Kong & Macau region, we will NOT separate the creative track and the innovative track, so there will be only ONE Innovation track. After advancing to the preliminary competition, students can fine tune their project details but NOT change the project concept.
When submitting entries in the preliminary competition, you must submit the description document (App introduction), and you can choose to submit App renderings, publicity posters, etc.
When entering intermediary contest (i.e., semi-finals) to submit entries, the participating teams must submit work description documents (App introduction) and videos, and can choose to submit part of the source code at their own discretion.
After entering the finals, the participating teams of the innovation track can continue to improve the works, but cannot change the theme and content of the works, and submit videos and apps that can run on iOS/iPad OS devices according to the requirements of the finals. Entries are subject to the last version submitted before the submission deadline. If the participating teams entering the finals need to go online to the App Store, the organizing committee can provide them with developer accounts for free. During the process of preparing for the presentation of the works (the finalists must be able to perform live demonstrations), Apple will provide the necessary Technical Support.
